Linn News – AirPlay2, new K60 cable, Majik amps end-of-life

Alongside the big news from Linn this week (LP12 Winter Trade-In Promotion), we have:

• AirPlay2 functionality now available for all Linn DSMs (from late 2018) via software update. No hardware change needed.
• New K60 speaker cable
• Majik amplifiers & 520 Fabrik end-of-life

Apple AirPlay 2 Software Certification
Following the next Davaar software update (imminent), all Linn DSMs released since the first Selekt DSM in late 2018 will have AirPlay 2 functionality – without the requirement of new hardware.

AirPlay 2 benefits include:

• Multi-room streaming: allows you to send multiple audio streams to multiple AirPlay 2-compatible devices simultaneously from an iOS or macOS device
• Siri integration: integrates with Apple’s voice assistant; you can ask Siri to play music on a specific Linn DSM or throughout your home
• Improved reliability
• Improved audio buffering
• Cast maximum 16-bit/44.1kHz streams to AirPlay 2-compatible systems wirelessly from apps like Apple Music

Compatible Linn DSMs are:

• Next-generation Klimax DSM
• Selekt DSM (All models)
• Series 3
• Majik DSM (2020)
• Kustom DSM

K60 Cable
This is a new Linn speaker cable designed expressly for tri-amp configurations. K60 is a high-performance, neat and compact cable solution ideally suited to running 150 loudspeakers Exakt from Selekt DSM. Available to order now and shipping late 2024, K60 will retail around £76 per metre.

Majik Amplifiers & 520 Fabriks end of life
Majik amplifiers (2100 to 6100) will disappear from our the Linn product line-up at the end of 2024. They can be ordered up until then.

520 Fabriks have been discontinued and are now unavailable for order.

Service News
RSN Turnaround time remains steady at around 2 weeks from receipt of the product at the factory.

Current estimated product lead times:
Custom Plinth/Cabinet Finishes – up to 12 weeks
All other products – up to 4 weeks
119 & 150 – existing orders for 119 and 150 speakers in certain finishes may have a longer lead time (up to 6 weeks) due to high demand. New orders should follow standard 4-week lead time.
